Terms and Conditions for Receipta

1. Who We Are

Receipta is a personal finance app that allows you to scan, store, and categorize receipts, track expenses, and monitor your budget using OCR and AI.

The service is developed and operated by a sole proprietor based in Ontario, Canada.

2. Eligibility

• Be at least 16 years old (or the age of majority in your country)
• Have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms
• Use the app for personal, non-commercial purposes only

3. Account and Registration

You may create an account using your email address, Apple ID, or Google account. By registering, you agree to:

• Provide accurate and complete information
• Keep your login credentials secure (passwords are encrypted at rest)
• Accept that your account may be suspended or deleted for violations of these Terms

4. Subscription and Billing

Receipta is a paid subscription service. Pricing as of the effective date is as follows:

• Begins with a 14-day free trial (full feature access)
• Automatically converts to a paid plan unless cancelled before the trial ends
• Auto-renews unless cancelled at least 24 hours before billing end
• Can be managed or cancelled via your App Store / Google Play account
• Billed through Apple or Google — not directly by the developer

We do not offer refunds for partial subscription periods, unless required by law.

5. Fair Use and Limits

Each subscription includes up to 200 receipt scans per month. If you exceed this limit, scanning may be restricted until your next billing cycle.

Receipta is intended solely for personal use. Uploading fake, manipulated, or commercial receipts may result in suspension or termination.

6. AI and OCR Accuracy

Receipta uses AI and OCR technologies to extract receipt data. While we strive for accuracy, these systems are not perfect — users are responsible for verifying extracted data. The app is not a substitute for professional accounting or tax advice.

7. Data and Privacy

Your personal data is handled according to our Privacy Policy, which explains:

• What data we collect (e.g., receipts, login credentials, usage data)
• How we store and protect your data
• Your rights under GDPR, PIPEDA, and other laws
• How to request data access or deletion

Data may be processed using third-party infrastructure such as RevenueCat, DigitalOcean, and Supabase.

8. Intellectual Property

All content, branding, and code of Receipta belong to the developer. You may not copy, reverse-engineer, or redistribute the app without written permission.

9. Termination and Suspension

We may suspend or terminate your account if you:

• Violate these Terms
• Use the app fraudulently or abusively
• Have an unpaid or expired subscription

You can cancel anytime via App Store or Google Play. Deleting the app does not cancel your subscription.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Receipta and its developer are not liable for:

• Loss of data or functionality due to technical issues
• OCR or AI inaccuracies
• Financial loss caused by reliance on app-generated data

The app is provided “as is” without warranties or guarantees.

11. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Ontario, Canada, without regard to conflict of law principles.

12. Updates to Terms

We may update these Terms periodically. Material changes will be announced via the app or email. Continued use indicates acceptance.
